
(Jan. 5, 2009) Photo Gallery - Gov. Dave Heineman today reminded Nebraskans and state employees of the importance of wellness. Governor Heineman was joined by Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy, Nebraska’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joann Schaefer, Dave Mlnarik, executive director of the Nebraska Sports Council, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln athletes Patrick Burke and Rachael Schwartz.
Gov. Heineman encourages companies of all types and sizes to address employee health. Nebraska has some of the best worksite wellness resources in the nation. The Governor’s Excellence in Wellness Award is an annual opportunity for businesses to be recognized for their efforts in employee health and wellness.
N-Lighten Nebraska is a wellness program open to anyone and conducted by the Nebraska Sports Council in partnership with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension and Tiger Coaching & Personal Training.
