(March 4, 2008 - News Release ) Gov. Dave Heineman, Secretary of State John Gale and Brig. Gen. Tim Kadavy, Adjutant General of the Nebraska National Guard, encouraged Nebraska middle school students to take time each year to honor veterans in their communities.  The three gathered at Barr Middle School in Grand Island to thank the students and teachers for their dedication to the “Honor a Veteran” program.  Based off of the program created at Barr middle School, the Secretary of State’s office is working to take the program statewide.
