(January 16, 2008) - Governor Dave Heineman and First Lady Sally Ganem congratulate Nebraska’s Principal of the Year, Mr. Jerry Bergstrom.  Mr. Bergstrom is the principal of Pershing Elementary School in Lexington.  During the recognition ceremony, students shared what they thought were the best qualities of their principal.  Answers ranged from “He is always nice to me” to “He knows my name” to “He has a shiny, bald head.”  The Governor and the First Lady joined the students, teachers, parents, principals from across the state, and Mr. Bergstrom’s family to recognize a job well done.
