(Sept. 26, 2008) Gov. Heineman and Nebraska’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joann Schaefer, meet with members of the Omaha Healthy Start Consortium.  The Governor also signed a proclamation for Infant Mortality Awareness.  Member of the group spoke about their volunteer commitment to reduce infant mortality, the services they provide, and how funds are utilized to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities with particular emphasis on infant mortality.
