Gov. Heineman Announces Lincoln, Sheridan & Box Butte

Counties Now Certified as Livestock Friendly

(Aug. 12, 2008) News Release - Gov. Dave Heineman today announced the official designation of Lincoln, Sheridan and Box Butte County as Nebraska’s three newest Livestock Friendly Counties. These three counties join Adams, Dawes, Garden, Hitchcock, Keith, Morrill, Wayne, and Webster Counties in being designated as Livestock Friendly. 

Gov. Heineman presented the Livestock Friendly designations to Chairman Jack Andersen of the Sheridan County Commission in Rushville, Chairman Marvin Toedtli of the Box Butte County Commission in Alliance, and Chairman Duane Deterding of the Lincoln County Commission in North Platte. The counties will also receive road signs bearing the program logo to display along highways. The program is coordinated by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA).
