The artwork of a dozen Nebraska students will be featured in the 2008 Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) Environmental Calendar titled "Nebraska: Don’t Waste It!" as part of statewide contest. The contest is sponsored by the NDEQ and focuses on the importance of waste reduction, recycling and cleaning up litter. The students whose submissions were selected for the 2008 calendar were invited to join Gov. Dave Heineman at a ceremony held the State Capitol on Tuesday, Aug. 7 and presented a certificate by Governor Dave Heineman and NDEQ Director, Mike Linder. Each month the calendar will feature one of the 12 winning environmental posters.
