The Governor was joined by members of the Legislature's Health and Human Services Committee for the first bill signing ceremony of the 100th legislative session. LB 296 will combine what is currently three agencies into one department and was designed to promote efficiency, accessibility and budget transparency in the state's largest agency. The bill was one of Gov. Heineman's priorities for the 2007 session.
