| Gov. Heineman was in Washington, D.C. to take part in the 2007 National Governors Association (NGA) Winter Meeting, where governors spent a significant amount of time discussing America's competitiveness in the global marketplace and how to help ensure that today's students receive the education and training needed to be part of a knowledge-based workforce. During the trip, the Governor had the opportunity to meet with his predecessor, Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns, and get an update on the USDA's farm bill proposal. |
