Gov. Heineman Updates Child Welfare Reform Efforts

| Gov. Heineman was joined by Chris Peterson, CEO of Nebraska's Health & Human Services System (HHSS), in announcing progress in the effort to improve Nebraska's child welfare system. At the end of 2006, the number of state wards had decreased by nearly 600 from an all-time high of 7,803 children last April. There are currently more children leaving Nebraska's child welfare system than entering it. |
