Gov. Heineman Appoints Arthur Wetzel to the County Court for the 9th Judicial District


(Lincoln, Neb.)  Gov. Dave Heineman today announced his appointment of Arthur S. Wetzel of Grand Island to serve as a judge of the County Court for the 9th Judicial District. 

Wetzel, 52, has practiced law for 27 years in Nebraska and currently serves as a solo practitioner at Anderson, Vipperman, Kovanda & Wetzel Law Firm. He has been a member of the Nebraska Bar Association since 1984. Wetzel has served as Deputy Adams County Attorney, and served as Past President of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association. In 2010, Wetzel was voted the best local attorney by readers of the Grand Island Independent, and he is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law.

The vacancy is due to the retirement of Judge David A. Bush.
