Gov. Heineman Reminds Nebraskans to Fly Flags
at Half-Staff in Honor of Victims of Ft. Hood Tragedy

(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman today reminded Nebraskans to fly state and U.S. flags at half-staff in tribute to the victims of yesterday’s tragedy at Ft. Hood in Texas.

“Our thoughts are with the military personnel and families touched by yesterday’s tragedy,” Gov. Heineman said. “Having had the opportunity to meet some of the soldiers serving at Ft. Hood recently, Sally and I are keeping them in our thoughts as  they deal with this tragedy and provide support to their fellow servicemen and women and the Ft. Hood community.”

President Barack Obama issued a proclamation today calling for flags to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
