Flags to Fly at Half-Staff at State Capitol & in Lincoln to Honor Ron Raikes

(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman has granted a request by Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler for U.S. and Nebraska flags to be flown at half-staff to honor the passing of Ron Raikes, a former Nebraska state senator.

Flags will be flown at half-staff in Lincoln on the day of his funeral, Thursday, Sept. 10.

The Governor has also directed that flags will be lowered at the Nebraska State Capitol and the Governor’s residence on Thursday in recognition of Raikes’ service to the state.

Raikes was 66.
