More Recovery Funds Awarded for State Road Improvements

 (Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman today announced the distribution of more than $23 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds for upgrades to state and local roads. Two projects have been awarded from the June bid letting and three from the July bid letting, which included one local project.

This fourth phase of improvements includes:

In addition, the next series of ARRA-related projects to be offered for bids by the Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR) have been released with bid letting scheduled for August.

The next round of projects includes four Omaha projects:

So far, $108.9 million of the $157.8 million received for state road and bridge improvements has been awarded, with 69 percent of the ARRA state transportation funding committed. NDOR continues to release new projects for bid every month until all state road ARRA funds have been awarded.
