Governor Announces Wyvill to Leave DHHS’
Division of Developmental Disabilities
(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman announced today that John Wyvill, Director of the Department of Health and Human Services' Division of Developmental Disabilities, will resign effective July 2 to pursue other opportunities.
“I appreciate John’s service and ongoing commitment to citizens with developmental disabilities, and I respect his decision to pursue other opportunities,” Gov. Heineman said.
Wyvill, 43, heads the Division of Developmental Disabilities responsible for certification of community providers, technical assistance, regulations, and payment for providers of community-based developmental disabilities services, and the operation of the Beatrice State Developmental Center, a 24-hour intermediate care facility for persons with developmental disabilities.
“I want to thank Governor Heineman for the privilege to serve and represent individuals in Nebraska and advocate on their behalf,” said Wyvill. “I stepped in at a critical time and made difficult decisions," Wyvill said. “During the past 20 months I have reorganized the division, brought in an interim management team for BSDC, and am leaving a roadmap for the division's future success.”
Wyvill began as Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities in September 2007. Previously, Wyvill practiced law and served in Arkansas state government for 11 years. |
