Monty Fredrickson Named Acting Roads Director

(Lincoln Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman today announced that Monty Fredrickson will be the Acting Director for the Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR). Fredrickson currently serves as Deputy Director and will take over for John Craig who is leaving next week for a job opportunity.

“I appreciate Monty’s willingness to step in and see the department through this transition,” Gov. Heineman said. “Summer is a busy time for road construction and with additional projects underway due to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, it is important to have someone overseeing the day to day work and long-term roads projects. Monty has had a long career with the department and I am confident he’ll do a good job.”

Fredrickson has served as the Deputy Director of Engineering for NDOR since 1992. He started his career at the department in 1970. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 1969.

A search for Craig’s replacement is underway.
