Nebraska Airman Named Senior Noncommissioned
Officer of the Year
Master Sgt. Tyrone F. Bingham of Nebraska Air National Guard Receives National Honor
(Lincoln, Neb.) A Nebraska Air National Guard sergeant serving at Offutt Air Force Base as part of the 170th Group was recently named the Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year for the United States Air National Guard.
Master Sgt. Tyrone F. Bingham is responsible for ensuring that pilots and crewmembers are current in all required training and flying hours while also managing their flight records. He was first named the top senior noncommissioned officer (NCO) in the 170th Group. After interviewing, he was named as the senior NCO for the Nebraska Air National Guard earlier this year.
“I want to thank Master Sergeant Bingham for his service and offer my congratulations on receiving this distinction,” Gov. Heineman said. “I look forward to meeting him.”
Master Sgt. Bingham and Maj. Gen. Tim Kadavy, adjutant general for Nebraska, are attending a dinner in Washington tonight as part of a week of events honoring military men and women receiving the prestigious honor.
Kadavy said, “The Nebraska National Guard recruits and retains the highest quality individuals to be Airmen and Soldiers in our units. The selection of Master Sergeant Bingham as the Airman of the Year is validation of the quality of our force.”
Bingham said, “There are days when it doesn’t seem like I can grasp the whole concept of being named one of the top senior NCO in the entire Air National Guard.” |
