Gov. Heineman Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff
on Memorial Day Morning

(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman has ordered that U.S. and Nebraska flags be flown at half-staff until noon on Monday, May 25 in recognition of Memorial Day.

Gov. Heineman said, “This Memorial Day, our flags will fly at half-staff in tribute to the courage and bravery of those who have sacrificed for our freedom and that of many others around the world. I join with all Nebraskans in saluting the heroes who have served our country with honor.”

President Barack Obama today signed a proclamation designating May 25 as a day of prayer for permanent peace during this year’s Memorial Day observance.
