Gov. Heineman Comments on Economic Forecasting Board’s Revisions
(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman today issued a statement following the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board’s report updating predictions on state revenues in the current fiscal year and the next biennium.
“This revised forecast is a clear and strong indication that the national economic slowdown will impact Nebraska during the next two years. A slowing economy will be a very serious financial challenge for our state, and requires a targeted and responsible approach. The state’s response should emphasize reductions in spending, not increasing taxes.” |
