UPDATED: Gov. Heineman to Deliver State of the State Address on Jan. 15

Gov. & Lt. Gov. to visit 16 communities during statewide tour

(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman is scheduled to deliver the annual State of the State Address tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 15 at 10:00 a.m. CT from the West Legislative Chamber at the State Capitol in Lincoln. This is the fourth such address since the Governor took office in 2005.

The Governor’s address will be broadcast on NET2 and NET Radio, and will be streamed live on the Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Web site at http://netnebraska.org/capitol.

Following the introduction of the Governor’s FY 2010-2011 budget recommendations, Gov. Heineman and Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy will begin a statewide tour taking them to 16 communities over two days. The schedule for the Governor and Lt. Governor’s appearances is as follows. All times are central standard time unless otherwise noted.

On Thursday, Jan. 15, Gov. Heineman will make the following stops:

  • 12:30 p.m.-Grand Island Central Nebraska Airport, located at 3743 Skypark Rd.
  • 1:45 p.m.-Kearney Municipal Airport, located at 5139 Airport Rd.
  • 3 p.m.- Leo Johnson Conference Room of the North Platte Regional Airport Terminal

Bldg., located at 5400 E. Lee Bird Dr.

  • 4:30 p.m.-Karl Stefan Airport, Norfolk Aviation Hangar, located at  4100 S. 13th St.
  • 5:30 p.m.-Columbus Airport Flight Service Station, located at 1304 Bill Babka Dr.

Lt. Gov. Sheehy will hold similar events in the following communities on Thursday:

  • 11:45 a.m.-Beatrice Municipal Airport, located on S. Hwy 77
  • 1:30 p.m.- McCook Regional Airport, located at 1100 Airport Rd.
  • 2 p.m. MT-Searle Airport Conference Center, located at 150 Airport Rd. in Ogallala
  • 3:30 p.m. MT-Western Nebraska Regional Airport in Scottsbluff
  • 4:30 p.m. MT-Alliance Municipal Airport
  • 7 p.m.- Valentine Miller Airport

The Governor will visit the following communities on Friday, Jan. 16:

  • 10 a.m.-South Sioux City Council Chambers, located at 1615 1st Ave.
  • 12:15 p.m.-Hastings Municipal Airport, located at 3300 W. 12th St.
  • 2 p.m.-Fremont Municipal Airport at 1203 W. 23rd St.

The Lt. Governor will hold news conferences in two communities on Friday:

  • 8:30 a.m.-City Hall,  located at 1820 Towle St. in Falls City
  • 10 a.m.-City Hall  at 1409 Central Ave. in Nebraska City
