(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman released the following statement after hearing that a lawsuit filed against the state by the Omaha, Grand Island, Lexington, and South Sioux City school districts and others has been dismissed.

Gov. Heineman said, “The dismissal of this lawsuit is good news. This means that instead of funding lawyers and lobbyists, the focus of the Omaha Public Schools can return to the education of our kids, closing the academic achievement gap and providing higher teacher salaries.”
