Gov. Heineman Comments on LB 963

(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman released the following statement regarding LB 963.

 “The continued actions of the Judiciary Committee are very disappointing.  LB 963 was about one issue and one issue alone – accountability in government to Nebraska taxpayers.  This was a targeted proposal that would prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving state and local benefits.  The Judiciary Committee’s actions do not reflect the views of the vast majority of Nebraskans who deserved to have had this bill debated by the full Legislature.”
