Gov. Heineman’s Statement
on CIR Ruling

(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman today issued the following statement regarding the ruling issued by the Commission of Industrial Relations (CIR):

“The state will not be appealing the CIR ruling. Such an appeal would significantly lengthen an already protracted process and would not be in the best interest of our employees. Therefore, bargaining unit employees will be receiving a salary increase in the very near future. It is time to move forward and focus all of our energies on providing the services our citizens need.”
