Gov. Heineman Reminds Nebraskans to Fly Flags
at Half-Staff on Memorial Day Morning

(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman today reminded Nebraskans that all U.S. and Nebraska flags are to be flown at half-staff on Monday, May 28 per presidential order to honor the selfless service of American men and women in uniform. Flags are to be flown at half-staff until noon.

Gov. Heineman said, “On behalf of all Nebraskans, I salute the heroes who have served this country with honor. I ask that we take a moment to pause this Memorial Day to remember the courage and bravery of those who throughout our nation’s history have sacrificed all for our freedom.”

President George W. Bush signed a proclamation on May 15 ordering flags to be flown at half-staff nationwide.
