Governor Announces Director of Insurance Ann Frohman to Leave Post This Fall

(Lincoln, Neb.) August 31, 2010 - Governor Dave Heineman today announced that Ann Frohman, Director of the Nebraska Department of Insurance (DOI), is planning to step down from the post she has held for nearly three years to pursue other opportunities in the private sector. She has been with the State of Nebraska for more than 20 years. Her resignation is effective Oct. 29.

Additional $240,000 in State Funds Available to Help Homeowners Affected by Flooding

(Lincoln, Neb.) August 25, 2010 - Gov. Dave Heineman today announced an additional $240,000 in emergency disaster grant funding is available to help residents in counties affected by June flooding.

Gov. Heineman and Nebraska Education Officials Outline Plan to Utilize Additional School Aid Funds

(Lincoln, Neb.) August 23, 2010 - Gov. Dave Heineman was joined by state leaders today in outlining how the state will utilize federal Education Jobs Funding passed earlier this month by Congress, noting that Governors have no choice whether to accept the money or not in a state. State officials emphasized that this funding will be considered part of a school district’s FY 2012 state aid.

Federal Health Care Medicaid Expansion to Cost Nebraska $526 to $766 Million

(Lincoln, Neb.) August 18, 2010 - Gov. Dave Heineman today announced the results of a fiscal analysis of the new federal health care law that predicts the cost to the State of Nebraska will be between $526 million and $766 million over the next 10 years in new state funding for Medicaid programs.
