Gov. Heineman was joined by state and federal officials in hosting a summit designed to update Nebraskans on state and federal planning for a possible pandemic flu outbreak, in addition to helping communities coordinate a local response for a widespread public health emergency.

The day-long summit featured presentations by HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt, Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns, along with Dr. Joann Schaefer, Nebraska's Chief Medical Officer, Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy and others.
